Most clinics offering rosacea support will reach for an IPL machine, a laser, or a calming facial. These things have their place. But they are not where we start.
Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory condition. With the right treatment plan, it can often be managed extremely successfully. The foundation of every rosacea treatment plan at Face for Soul is your own biology: your blood, your growth factors, your body's capacity to regulate inflammation from the inside out.
We use that first, before anything else, because in clinical practice it consistently produces better and longer-lasting results than any machine used in isolation.
This approach takes longer to explain. It takes more skill to deliver. And it produces results that feel genuinely different, because they are coming from within your skin rather than being imposed on it from outside.
Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory skin condition. The exact cause remains an area of active research, but clinical understanding now points to a combination of factors that interact differently in every patient.
Understanding which of these factors is most active in your skin is the starting point of every consultation at Face for Soul.
Triggers vary significantly between individuals and can change over time. Common ones include:
There is no universal rosacea.
Rosacea presents differently in every patient. Common signs include:
You do not need a formal diagnosis to seek help. If your skin is chronically red and reactive, a consultation is the right place to start.
There is only your rosacea. Identifying your specific triggers is part of the consultation process at Face for Soul.
The goal at Face for Soul is not simply calmer skin today. The goal is healthier, more resilient skin six months and six years from now.
That means beginning with what will create the most durable improvement, not what is fastest to offer. For the majority of rosacea patients, that starting point is regenerative treatment using your own biology, supported by a prescription-led skincare foundation, before any energy-based device is introduced.
Every rosacea treatment plan begins with a thorough consultation: your history with the condition, your previous treatments, your current skincare, your triggers, your hormonal picture where relevant, and what you are hoping to achieve. The treatment plan is then built specifically around you.
PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin) and PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) use a small sample of your own blood, processed to concentrate your natural growth factors, which are then reintroduced into the skin.
For rosacea patients, this offers something that most treatments cannot: genuine anti-inflammatory action from within your own biology. Your growth factors signal the skin to calm, repair and regulate the vascular activity that drives redness and flushing. No synthetic ingredients. No risk of aggravating a sensitised skin barrier, because the treatment uses only what your own body produces.
Most clinics will not offer microneedling to rosacea patients. The assumption is that introducing controlled injury to an already reactive skin will worsen things. In the wrong hands, at the wrong depth, with the wrong protocol, that assumption is correct.
At Face for Soul, microneedling for rosacea is delivered using SkinPen, at carefully selected depths, with a protocol developed specifically for rosacea skin. When combined with PRF and delivered at the right moment in the treatment plan, SkinPen microneedling can significantly calm rosacea, support collagen production, improve skin resilience and reduce the reactivity that makes daily life with rosacea so difficult.
Morpheus8 is a fractional radiofrequency microneedling device that combines the controlled micro-injury of microneedling with the delivery of radiofrequency energy at precise depths within the skin. For rosacea patients, this combination is clinically significant in a way that standard microneedling alone is not.
Radiofrequency energy delivered at depth creates a controlled thermal effect that targets the overactive vasculature responsible for persistent redness and flushing. At the same time, it stimulates collagen and elastin remodelling, strengthens the skin barrier and reduces the chronic inflammatory signalling that keeps rosacea active.
The result, in suitable patients, is a meaningful reduction in persistent redness, improved skin quality and a more stable skin that flushes less readily and recovers faster from triggers.
Network Meta-Analysis, 2025
A systematic review and network meta-analysis published in the Journal of the German Dermatological Society (November 2025) analysed 25 randomised controlled trials covering 843 patients, comparing pulsed dye laser, IPL, KTP laser, Nd:YAG and radiofrequency microneedling. Radiofrequency microneedling ranked highest for both patient-reported satisfaction and investigator-assessed erythema reduction.

48-Week Prospective Study, 2022
A 48-week prospective observational study published in Archives of Dermatology Research examined radiofrequency microneedling in patients whose rosacea had not responded to standard treatments. Participants showed significant improvement in rosacea severity and lesion counts. The study concluded that radiofrequency microneedling offers a valuable option for difficult-to-treat rosacea, particularly papulopustular presentations.

Split-Face Clinical Trial: 13.6% Erythema Reduction with Histological Confirmation
A split-face clinical trial found that fractional microneedling radiofrequency produced a 13.6 percent decrease in erythema index and a 6.8 percent decrease in skin redness values compared to baseline. Histological analysis confirmed reduced inflammation and reduced markers of innate immune activity and angiogenesis in treated skin. The improvement was confirmed at tissue level, not surface level only.

Polynucleotides, sometimes referred to as PDRN or salmon DNA therapy, are one of the most significant developments in regenerative aesthetics for inflammatory skin conditions including rosacea.
The treatment uses highly purified DNA fragments derived from salmon, which are structurally similar enough to human DNA to trigger genuine tissue repair and anti-inflammatory responses within the skin. For rosacea patients this means support for barrier repair, reduction in chronic inflammation, and improvement in overall skin quality and resilience.
Polynucleotides work at a cellular level rather than on the surface. This makes them particularly valuable for patients whose skin has been sensitised by years of inflammation, unsuitable treatments, or barrier dysfunction. They can be used as a standalone treatment or combined with PRF as part of a layered treatment plan, depending on what the skin needs.
Emerging clinical evidence supports the use of carefully performed micro-Botox, also known as intradermal botulinum toxin, to reduce flushing, redness and improve overall skin quality in rosacea patients. The technique involves very small amounts of botulinum toxin delivered superficially into the dermis rather than into the muscle, targeting the sweat glands and superficial blood vessels that contribute to flushing and redness. Precision matters here. This is not a standard anti-wrinkle injection technique, and the clinical skill required is different. It is offered at Face for Soul where clinically appropriate.
Many rosacea patients have experienced facials that left their skin worse rather than better. The wrong products, the wrong techniques, steam, massage or extractions can all aggravate rosacea significantly.
Kait delivers bespoke facials specifically adapted for reactive and rosacea-prone skin. Every treatment is designed around where your skin is on that particular day. Barrier support, gentle cleansing and anti-inflammatory treatment modalities are the foundation. Nothing is standardised. Nothing is applied without clinical consideration.
Some rosacea patients benefit from prescription oral or topical treatments, or from specialist laser procedures, that sit outside the scope of aesthetic practice. When this is the right path, referral to trusted dermatology colleagues is offered rather than attempting to manage something that requires specialist input. Knowing when to refer is part of responsible clinical practice.

PRESCRIPTION PRODUCTS AVAILABLE AT FACE FOR SOUL
We offer Morpheus8 as part of the rosacea treatment pathway at Face for Soul, but not as a first-line treatment and not in isolation.
Morpheus8 works best in patients whose skin has been stabilised first, which is why we begin with PRF and a barrier-supportive skincare foundation before considering it as the next step.
For patients who have reached a stage of reasonable stability and are looking for meaningful structural improvement in redness, skin quality, and long-term resilience, Morpheus8 can be transformative. The combination of radiofrequency energy at depth with the growth factor delivery enabled by PRF is, in my clinical experience, one of the most effective approaches available for chronic rosacea that has not responded adequately elsewhere.
The research now supports what we see clinically: radiofrequency microneedling is not just for skin tightening. For the right rosacea patient, at the right moment in their treatment plan, it is the most effective energy-based option available.
Depending on your skin and the stage of your rosacea, your treatment plan may also include:
Gentle, barrier-supportive facials designed specifically for reactive and rosacea-prone skin. Not a standard facial. Every treatment Kait delivers is adapted to where your skin is on that day.
Emerging clinical evidence supports the use of carefully performed micro-Botox to reduce flushing, redness, and improve overall skin quality in rosacea patients. Precision matters here. The technique is everything.
Some patients benefit from prescription oral or topical treatments that sit outside the scope of aesthetic practice. When this is the right path, I will refer you to trusted dermatology colleagues rather than attempt to manage something that needs specialist input.
